Professional Background
Marilé is a CFA charterholder and chartered accountant with over 13 years’ experience in financial services with a particular focus on Web3. She has worked continuously in the digital assets space since 2017. Her specialties include crypto FinOps, investment structures, treasury, fund accounting and audit.
Prior to joining IMS, Marilé was Head of International Operations at CoinList, an early leader in token issuance. She was responsible for improving internal controls and operating procedures, managing counterparty relationships, directing wallet liquidity flows and completing token reconciliations. She also served as a director of CoinList’s BVI token issuance and custodial entities, chairing board meetings, approving material agreements and overseeing regulatory compliance.
Before joining CoinList, Marilé was a member of the crypto audit team at KPMG Cayman, where she conducted audits of blue-chip digital asset investment funds, reviewing crypto self-custody solutions, testing the existence of digital assets and performing token reconciliations.
Earlier in her career, Marilé worked at Luno, at the time the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Africa, and was responsible for group consolidation, technical accounting, treasury management, digital asset liquidations and financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
Prior to that, she oversaw NAV production and supported fund launches for both traditional and crypto investment funds at JTC Fund Solutions. Marilé began her career at KPMG in South Africa within the financial services audit division.
